Baby Gender Reveal

Having a gender reveal party?
Here's a different idea than the typical cut the cake reveal.

A good friend in my office was finding out what she was having today! I work with all women, so of course we were all so excited and just as antsy as her. Since it's around the holidays and we have cookies and treats galore in our breakroom; I wanted to do something besides a cake for her.

I found this lady that took old chenille bedspreads and made stuffed animals out of them for kids. My friend has a Westie dog, so I thought this was PERFECT!

I tied a blue and pink bow around the neck of the dog and came up with this little rhyme.

Now that you have healthy baby Kunz (their last name) in tow, it's time to reveal the right colored bow!

I have to admit, that's pretty dang cute!

We took a vote in the office to see what everyone thought...
2 people thought it would be a boy and 5 people thought it would be a girl!

We were all so anxious waiting for her to get to the office after her doctor's appointment! About 9:35am rolled around and we saw her pulling in! AHHHH the patience was wearing thin!

AND
THE
RESULT
IS

IT'S A BOYYYYY!!!!!

AH We are so excited for them!! Congrats & we can't wait to meet baby boy Kunz!

Easy Quick Oatmeal

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Heard that before? That's because it's true in many ways. You should eat within 30 minutes to an hour of waking up to jump start and maximize your metabolism for the day. Throughout the day you should be eating small meals and snacks every 3 to 5 hours. Portion control people. Portion control. This does not mean a Thanksgiving meal every 3 hours.

Shape Magazine explains the importance of eating breakfast: "Skipping breakfast or eating too little forces your body to switch into conservation mode and burn fewer calories, which means you're more likely to hang onto body fat."

Higher protein breakfast leads to reductions in hunger and less eating later in the day. SOOO here's where I come in!
I have an easy peasy oatmeal recipe for you!

Here's what I used:
{keep in mind I'm bad at remembering to measure}
100% Whole Grain Oats (amount you want to make)
Whole Flax Seeds (hand full)
Sliced Almonds (about 1/2 cup)
Organic Seedless Raisins (amount is your preference)
Ground Cinnamon (guesstimate- you can add more later)

Put it all in a large canister/storage container and give it a shake. Work those biceps! Shake, shake, shake... shake your boootayyy. Wait. What?

Focus. You can also put this in individual baggies to take to work.
Scoop desired amount into a mug (remember portion control!)
I added a little water and then a little almond milk.
Pop it into the microwave for about 40 seconds {in reality I did 37 seconds because I'm weird and everything has to end in a 7 or 1}
ENJOY!

Flax Seeds= Omega-3, Legnans & Dietary Fiber
Almonds= Fiber, Protein, Vitamins & Minerals
Raisins= Antioxidants & Vitamins

The Aisle File Engagement Gift Idea

Here is my quick & easy engagement gift
"The Aisle File"

The file allows them to keep all of the wedding things in one place. Notes, lists, contracts, invoices, contact info etc.

Supplies that I chose:
Last Name initial letter of the newly engaged couple (Hobby Lobby)
A bridal magazine {this one came with a bonus honeymoon guide} (Target)
 Notebook & Pens to start the lists and planning (Target)
2 mini bottles of Korbel Champagne  (Liquor Store)
One magazine file box (Target)

Select Your Tissue Colors {these are what I had on hand}

One for the Bride & one for the Groom

Choose a font you like, print and cut it out. That simple!

I made this tag in PowerPoint. I drew a rectangle and filled it with this picture. Added text to say "Congratulations On Finding your Perfect Match!" Tied it with some string I had and ta-da!

The "H" wouldn't fit in the box, so I left it out to the side.

This is a super easy and DIY gift idea that any bride-to-be will appreciate!

The 4th According to my iPhone

{Some table decor to get in the spirit}

On the 3rd there was a country concert with Justin Moore & fireworks after at the Waterfront on the Ohio River!

Started my 4th of July off right, at the gym. Then ended up with a cakepop becase it was the instructors birthday. At least I worked out for an hour, right? There should be a rule against your gym giving you sweets. {weakness}

Peer Pressure... we made 3pm whiskey and waters.

Went to my parents for dinner and played cards with my Gran. She tried so hard, bless her heart.

and this pie. oh em gee. YUM {raspberry & blackberry}

Went to a friends house that had tons of fireworks. {um I pretty sure I looked like a scared 3 year old hiding behind a car}

Zzz.. got to sleep with this cute fella. {aww}

Weekend Rewind

Friday was laid back... Andrew and I went to the gym for a late night sesh.
See those sassy leopard pants? {ow ow} Got those bad boys at Kohls! They automatically make you workout harder. Swear.

Andrew's nephew had his 8th birthday party on Saturday. Ever need birth control? Go to a kids birthday party. MY LORD they have too much energy.

Later that night, we had a surprise engagement party to attend for one of our closest couple friends.
So Surprised! {seriously, she had no idea}

We all pitched in and got them Tiffany & Co champagne glasses for their wedding!

The whole gang

60 West is known for their martinis...YUM!
I had the "white gummy bear" and "leggo my mango"

It was mainly couples if you couldn't tell. I feel like all of my friends are married, engaged or in a relationship. Sorry boys, don't come looking my way for single friends :(

Everyone dancin' to the Wobble!
{wobble baby, wobble baby, wobble baby, yeah}

and...
hello hangover Sunday! woo hoo! {not}

That night the engaged couple, Katey & Victor came over for Taco Sunday! We talked about what happened the night before and all the drama it consisted of. Good thing Andrew & I left when we did. ;)

Fashion for the Fourth

You don't always have to go literal for holiday fashion. Keep is classy people. You can also venture out to different shades of the holidays colors. Take a risk!

Since nails are such a big deal these days, I thought I've give you some ideas! All you need is red, white, blue and a little sparkle!

Weekend Rewind

Another weekend has come and gone.
The 1st official weekend of Summer!

That's exactly how I feel too, little man. Bummerrrrr.

My weekend was relaxing, exciting, eventful, scary & full of firsts. I almost felt like we were in a movie half of the time. A Scary movie at that! I'll just keep it short and sweet... here's what it involved:
making vodka gummy bears then forgetting to pack them #fail *1ST*
ridin' in the back of a pickup in the middle of the night *1ST*
yelling Yeeee-hawwwww {a lot}
a tree that fell over in a storm blocking the road & all the guys thinking they could move it (hilarious)
getting pulled over on the lake (who makes a lake dry anyway?? can you say oxymoron?) *1ST*
waking up hungover
cornhole [of course]
Getting caught in a storm..a for real storm! Oh, and we were on the boat in the lake! *1ST*
finding animals: toad, turtle, ducks, bones in the backyard (Ew)
jell-o shots

Guys making breakfast...what what??

Straight redneckin' in that truck with no shirt. Yee-haw!!

We found a turtle while the guys were getting the boat out of storage... He was hoarding cigarettes.

A momma duck and her babies! So so cute! We fed them chips!

Bailey was knocked! Too much action for her.

Cool, calm and collected.

Bentley loved the sun!

At one point, he even refused to come inside.

More ducks!

Please ignore the pale legs and look at the STRAW-BER-RITA! Mmmmm

Chill-ax-in

It was sunny one minute.......

then...HERE COMES THE STORM!!! ah!

Everyone was so soaked!

 It was so funny and we all had a blast! That's what matters anyway!
Hope your weekend was just as eventful!
